One summer afternoon me and my friend decided to visit Åsa Gravfält Natural Reserve. This ancient place was dated all the way to the Iron Age.
The Iron Age was a period in human history that started between 1200 B.C. and 600 B.C. We both agreed that the location was perfect for drone flight and we had high expectations.
The perfect weather and good company
Before we started our 80 km trip we did some ground research. The area was wide and without so much high trees which provided a safe zone for our fly. Few weeks ago I explored the similar ancient place Anundshög.
When we arrived at Åsa Gravfält Natural Reserve we explored the area. The wether was nice as predicted but the wind was changeable and sometimes even stronger then predicted. My plan from the beginning was to do range test for my drone. The range test is (if you are not familiar with the term) to safely fly as long as possible and then return back before your battery is empty. My high recommendations for you is to fly against the wind direction first. Later on your way back you can use the wind power from behind as your benefit to help you arrive faster.
Åsa Gravfält – fun place to fly
Instead of range test I was more comfortable with just flying around and exploring this ancient place. I really enjoyed the bird eye view of the stone formations and small rounded hills. I was fascinated how ancient people from Iron Age planed and crated all this.
We made a few panoramas from different directions and from different hight. As you can see down below I even created photo of both of us. We flow two batteries each which was enough to document the place and have a fun.
