Stockholm had an epic sunset yesterday and I wasn’t prepared for one more surprise. My short conclusion was, who am I to complain… right?
Today was windy and cloudy weather almost the whole day. Just hour or two before the end of the day it became more calm. My friend was still in the Stockholm and we decided to meet at the Riddarholmen.
After the yesterday’s sunset when the whole sky was on the fire as you can see here we didn’t expacted so much. Suddenly all the way to horizon on the West side clouds started to clear and the sun showed up. It looked like out luck was going to change.
We began to sense that something was going on…
As usual I send my little drone up to the air to explore conditions and find a good spots for my photography. Soon after that the clouds started to change from dark-blue-gray colours more to yellowish. All the way to horizon everything became yellow and the edges of the clouds started to be affected as well.
One more friend showed up with his mobile and smile on his face. We know each other via Instagram and then he went further to photograph this up coming sunset. This wasn’t quick sunset as sometimes happened and you get around 15 minutes before it ends. I finished my second battery and the sky was still on the fire increasing on the intensity. The orange-reddish clouds dominated the whole sky as you can see on the first photo.
My decision to wait in 10 minutes before I was flying again with my last battery was the smart one. Clouds started to turn to intensive red colours at the horizon followed with dark magenta at the rest of the sky. I made a few really beautiful and colourful panoramas covering the huge part of the Mälaren lake, Riddarholmen, Kungsholmen and part of Södermalm on the left side.
We where really happy heaving the one more epic sunset. Heaving a two in the row and both wow wasn’t every days story. After that we went for a coffee and maybe a beer…
